With the Smart Band 8, Xiaomi has a first! A smartwatch that can be worn in different ways, allowing the Smart Band 8 to support you even better in your workout. This smartwatch not only goes on your wrist, but can also be worn as a necklace and can even be attached to your shoe for the most accurate measurements during your running session.

The Smart Band 8 has a 1.62-inch 60Hz AMOLED screen with a whopping 600nits brightness, so the screen is perfectly readable in any situation. With standard use, the Smart Band 8 lasts up to sixteen days on a single charge session. Also, the Smart Band 8 supports fast charging and thus is fully charged within an hour. With the new Always On Display, the screen is continuously on and thus always shows the clock. So you can use the Band 8 as a normal watch too! 

Sporty

The Smart Band 8 makes sports fun again! The smartwatch supports up to 150 sports, including now even boxing. This is made possible by the addition of the acceleration sensor. With the 6-axis motion sensors, the Band 8 tracks all your movements while exercising. Due to Xiaomi's design choices, the Band 8 is water resistant up to 5 ATM, so you can simply keep the fitness tracker on while swimming.

Of course, this fitness tracker also measures your heart rate and blood oxygen saturation 24/7. With the improved Sleep mode, the Band 8 measures through the night and displays all the information about your light, deep and REM sleep the next morning.

Design

Xiaomi has put a lot of effort into the unique design of the Smart Band 8. The smartwatch has an elongated oval shape with a large 1.62-inch AMOLED screen. The strong frame is made of metal for a very robust design. Furthermore, the Smart Band 8 has no buttons, but you control the smartwatch via the touch screen or via your phone.

For the band, Xiaomi has developed a new click system. With this, the Smart Band 8 can also be used as a necklace, the Smart Band 8 then still keeps track of your steps, shows the time and can be used to pay with. As a second new way of wearing, the Smart Band 8 can be put into a "running pod," which is a separate product that you use to attach the Smart Band 8 to your running shoe. This measures your stride frequency, stride length and even the impact of your foot on the ground while running! 

Convenient app

You can pair the Smart Band 8 with an app to easily read out all the information and track your progress. You connect the Band 8 to the Mi Fitness App on the Chinese servers. Currently only the English language is available, other languages will be added later.

This app also has a boxing mode that lets you practice your various boxing moves. It also allows you to control different smart devices by simply raising your arm. And finally, Xiaomi has thought of resting moments and you can play games like Sudoko, Flipper and 2048 with the Smart Band 8 to relax for a while.
